The Revs players have lives outside of soccer. It’s shocking, I know! Coffield’s Corner has been a great way to get the guys to open up about what they do off the field and outside of Gillette. I’m taking a look back now and recapping 10 of the most interesting things I’ve learned so far.
1. Kevin Alston wears a headset: Yes, you read that correctly. Kevin Alston likes to spend some of his free time playing "Destiny," a video game where you can communicate with other players in the game through a headset. Hey Kevin - still waiting on that selfie of you in your lovely headgear ...
2. Teal Bunbury listens to Gospel music before games: A departure from the usual club remixes we hear coming from the locker room. Teal says he likes to get himself in the zone with a little gospel.
3. Jay Heaps doesn’t know anything about tools: According to assistant coach Tommy Soehn, Jay doesn’t know a hammer from a screwdriver. Care to refute that Coach Heaps?
4. Jose Goncalves does a mean Godfather impression: All that time he spends in the North End has paid off because Jose does a flawless Italian accent.
5. Diego Fagundez has become a steak aficionado: Under the guidance of road roommate Jose Goncalves, Diego has come to appreciate a nice steak. The two enjoy one together the night before a game when they’re on the road. Hey guys, where’s my invite?
6. Teal Bunbury is the best dancer on the team: According to Kevin, Teal has some sweet dance moves, though apparently Charlie Davies is the guy who breaks it down the most. This can only mean one thing ... DANCE BATTLE.
7. Juan Agudelo loves grease … On his Colombian food that is! Juan has a spot in Boston called El Paisa where they pour on the grease and cook up some delicious food. Might have to try that out, for research purposes of course…
8. Chris Tierney has lived in Charlestown for seven years: He has also recruited a couple of the other guys on the team to come live in the area. Wait, seven years? Chris how old are you?
9. Kevin’s spirit animal is a penguin or the stag from Harry Potter: He’s a self-proclaimed “low-key nerd,” so the Harry Potter stag is probably his true spirit animal.
10. The guys on the team do call Juan by his nickname, “Swags”: EXCEPT the guys who are jealous. You fellas need some ice for that burn?
