FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy continued its fall season last weekend as all four teams saw action, posting an unbeaten 2-0-2 record in Saturday’s action. The Under-19s, Under-17s, and Under-15s all traveled to Leesburg, Va. to take on the Academy teams of D.C. United at Segra Field on Saturday, Sept. 21. Meanwhile, the Under-14s hosted Oakwood Soccer Club at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on Saturday morning.
Three Academy teams will be in action next weekend on Saturday, Sept. 28. The U-19s, U-17s, and U-15s will take on Baltimore Armour at FC Stars Field in Lancaster, Mass. The U-14s will resume action on Oct. 5 against BW Gottschee.
WEEK HIGHLIGHTS
- Defender Kian Charris (Pawtucket, R.I.—2006) played up a level with the U-15s and scored a 37th-minute goal in the team’s 3-3 draw at D.C. United. The goal was Charris’ first with the Academy.
- Forward Isaie Louis (Everett, Mass.—2005) scored two goals in the U-15s’ 3-3 road draw against D.C. United. Louis has now scored three goals in three games.
- Midfielder Hikaru Fujiwara (Lexington, Mass.—2003) scored the U-17s’ lone goal in a 1-1 road draw with D.C. United.
- Midfielder Giuseppe Ciampa (Westwood, Mass.—2006) scored the opening goal of the U-14s’ 2-1 win over Oakwood Soccer Club at Gillette Stadium. The strike was Ciampa’s first for the Revs.
- Midfielder Trevor Burns (Southborough, Mass.—2001) scored the U-19s’ opening goal in their 4-1 road victory over D.C. United. Burns now has one goal and two assists this season.
- Forward Michael Tsicoulias (Newton Centre, Mass.—2002) scored a goal in the U-19s’ 4-1 road victory over D.C. United—his second goal in two weeks.
