FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy continued its fall season last weekend as three teams played matches in Massachusetts. The Under-19s, Under-17s, and Under-15s all hosted Maryland’s Bethesda SC at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. on Saturday, Sept. 14.
All four Academy teams will be in action next weekend on Saturday, Sept. 21. The U-14 team will host Oakwood SC at Gillette Stadium, while the U-19s, U-17s, and U-15s will travel to Leesburg, Va. to face the Academy teams of D.C. United.
WEEKHIGHLIGHTS
- Forward Malcolm Fry (Groton, Mass.—2005) started and scored four goals in 53 minutes of action in the U-15s’ 5-0 victory over Bethesda SC on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Gillette Stadium. Fry netted a hat trick in just 30 minutes.
- Midfielder Tico Rivera (Cranston, R.I.—2002) scored the game-winning goal in the 90th minute of the U-19s’ 2-1 win over Bethesda SC. Rivera started and played 90 minutes in the win.
- Goalkeepers Brady Elmblad (Sharon, Mass.—2005) and Sebastian Wraga (Springfield, Mass.—2006) teamed up to post a shutout in the U-15s’ 5-0 win over Bethesda SC.
- Forward Isaie Louis (Everett, Mass.—2005) scored a penalty kick goal in the 36th minute of the U-15s’ 5-0 win. The goal was Louis’ first with the Revs Academy.
- Forward Michael Tsicoulias (Newton Centre, Mass.—2002) scored the game-tying goal in the U-19s’ 2-1 win over Bethesda SC after coming off of the bench. Tsicoulias played 30 minutes as a substitute in the victory.
