Academy Update | Trio of youth teams host Baltimore Armour

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. ā€“ Three New England Revolution Academy teams continued their fall campaigns last weekend. The Under-19s, Under-17s, and Under-15s all faced off against Baltimore Armour at FC Stars Field in Lancaster, Mass.


The Under-14 team will be the lone Academy side returning to USSDA action next weekend, as they will host BW Gottschee Academy at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 5.


WEEKHIGHLIGHTS


  • Forward Ronilson Mendes (Brockton, Mass. ā€” 2002) registered a brace in a three-minute span, tallying in the 42nd and 44th minutes of the U-19's 5-3 win against Baltimore Armour. He also added an assist on Meny Silva's (Dorchester, Mass. ā€“ 2002) game-opening goal. Mendes' goals were his first two of the 2019-20 season.
  • Forward Damien Rivera (Cranston, R.I. ā€” 2002) scored his first goal of the 2019-20 campaign and contributed an assist in the U-19's win vs. Baltimore. 
  • Forward Gevork Diarbian (Cranston, R.I. ā€” 2001) scored the game-winning goal for the U-19s. He also registered an assist in the U-19's win.
  • Forward Felipe Vieira (Malden, Mass. ā€” 2003) opened his 2019-20 account, scoring New England's lone goal in the U-17's 3-1 loss to Baltimore.
