BRADENTON, Fla. – For Buenos Aires native Luca Langoni, home is found on the pitch. Leaving behind friends and family in Argentina – where he'd spent his entire life – to join the Revolution last August, the 22-year-old winger has experienced plenty of change in the last few months. Throughout that time, one thing has remained constant: his love of the game. For Langoni, soccer has made New England his second home, but it’s also what ties him back to his roots.
“It [New England] feels like my second home because it’s the one that gave me the opportunity to come from Boca,” said Langoni. “They had a lot of confidence in me in that moment, so I’m very grateful.”
The young attacker spent his academy days and the beginning of his professional career with Boca Juniors, a legendary club that he admired since he was a young boy. He ascended through the club’s youth system, joining their senior team at just 20 years old in 2022. His skills as a goal scorer were apparent from his debut season, scoring six times with one assist in 18 league appearances in the 2022 campaign. When he joined the Revolution late in 2024, he was able to register three goals and two assists in a little more than 700 minutes.
Currently in preseason training with the team at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, Langoni is trying to emulate the warm welcome he received when he first joined the team to help all of the new faces repping the Revs this season.
“I adapted quickly to the group because of the guys on the team. They gave me confidence and that’s what we are trying to do with the new guys now,” he explained. “The guy I have spoken to the most so far is Leo [Campana], but I want to get to know everybody and I’m trying to do that day by day.”
Langoni, electric on the pitch, is calm and softspoken after the whistle blows. Off the field, he emphasizes finding quiet moments at home, relaxing and spending time with the people he loves. He says there’s not much fans don’t know about him; he is as he appears to be. “I’m simple. I’m calm. What they see on the field, me giving my best is what I can share with them.”
For a 22-year-old who has already achieved so much success and garnered so many fans at a young age, Langoni is humble about his role on the team, always looking to support the Revolution however he can.
“I don’t know if there is a specific way to describe my role,” he said. “I would say that I’m always there to help the team in any way I can or help any player I can.”
Langoni emphasizes that he is constantly trying to improve, working on what he can, and fighting to win minutes on the pitch. This preseason is Langoni’s first with the team and he is determined to make the most of it, for himself and the group.
“It’s been very good so far,” he said. “We are improving day by day and we are improving the details we need to work on so we can be in our best form when the season starts.”
With so many changes to the 2025 roster – 12 additions as of January 19 – the Revolution enter the season with a renewed energy. For Langoni, he is focused on helping the team win big. “The objective for the team is to win titles. We’re going to fight for that and we’re going to prepare this preseason so that we are ready to do that,” he explained.
In fact, Langoni describes his intentions for this season in single word:
“Winner.”
