FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution and U.S. Soccer announced today that the United States Men’s National Team will host five-time World Cup champion Brazil at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The match, which is presented by Liberty Mutual Insurance, will kick off at 8 p.m. This will be the U.S. National Team’s second visit to Gillette Stadium this year, having beaten Haiti 1-0 as part of a CONCACAF Gold Cup doubleheader on July 10 in front of a crowd of 46,270.

All-time, the U.S. National Team is 17-2-5 in 24 previous visits to Foxborough, including a 10-2-2 record at Gillette Stadium, which opened in 2002. This will be Brazil’s fourth visit to the venue, having previously faced Mexico, Venezuela and Portugal in 2007, 2008 and 2013 respectively. Brazil is 2-1-0 in those three games, including a 3-1 win over Portugal in Sept. 2013.
This will be the 18th meeting between the U.S. and Brazil, and the fifth since 2009 with the most recent being a 4-1 win for the Seleção on May 30, 2012, in front of more than 67,000 fans at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland. In the history between the teams, the U.S. has gone 1-16-0 in a series that dates back to 1930.
