TUCSON, Ariz. – Juan Agudelo and Krisztián Németh should both be available to make their 2018 preseason debuts next week when the New England Revolution take on Sporting Kansas City in the third game of the Mobile Mini Sun Cup on Wednesday afternoon (1 p.m. ET, streaming live on revolutionsoccer.net).
Agudelo and Németh have both been sidelined by injury in recent weeks, missing the Revs’ first five preseason matches (including Saturday’s meeting with San Antonio FC). Agudelo did play 21 minutes with the U.S. National Team in a friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina in late January.
Head coach Brad Friedel said both forwards are nearing a return, however, and should be back in full training by Monday and available for selection when the Revs play Sporting KC midweek.
Zach Herivaux, meanwhile, is 7-10 days away from a return after “he turned his ankle quite badly,” according to Friedel.
The Revs continue Mobile Mini Sun Cup action on Saturday, February 17, when they’ll battle USL side San Antonio FC at 6 p.m. ET. That match will also stream live on revolutionsccer.net.
