FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution midfielder Jermaine Jones has been called in to the U.S. National Team for the upcoming CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers against St. Vincent and The Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago. Jones is one of 23 players that have been called into the team by U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann for the two games which begin the qualifying campaign for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Jones has made 54 appearances with the U.S. since making his debut in 2010, scoring three times. He has collected six caps in 2015, including two last month against Mexico and Costa Rica.
The 34-year-old played in 19 games in all competitions for the Revs in 2015, helping the club earn a third consecutive postseason berth. Since being signed by the Revolution in August 2014, Jones has appeared in 34 games for the club, tallying three goals and six assists.
The United States will open CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying on Friday, Nov. 13 when its hosts St. Vincent and The Grenadines at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Following that game, the team will play its first road qualifier, away to Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday, Nov. 17 in Port of Spain.
