FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution Under-16 player Guyllain “Guy” Kabala (Manchester, N.H.) is among the 31 players selected to U.S. Soccer’s Under-17 Residency Program for its fall semester in Bradenton, Fla. Kabala joined the program in the fall of 2011, and is currently in his third semester of the two-year cycle in preparation for the 2013 CONCACAF U17 Championship.

While in the program, Kabala will live on campus at the IMG Academy and train in the morning under the guidance of U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team head coach Richie Williams. In the afternoon, the players will attend classes at St. Stephens Episcopal School. The players will have access to IMG’s state-of-the-art strength-training facilities, as well as some of the nation’s best sports psychologists that work at the Academy.

"We are especially proud that Guy has been invited back to Residency,” said Revolution Director of Youth Development and Under-16 Head Coach Bryan Scales. “It is always a tremendous honor when any of our players are selected to represent their country and we look forward to seeing and supporting Guy at various times throughout the year."

Kabala is in his second year with the Revolution Under-16 team. The Manchester native spent much of his first season with the Revs with U.S. Soccer’s Under-17 Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla., returning to New England in May. After rejoining the club, Kabala made eight appearances, including six starts, with the Under-16 team and traveled to Johannesburg, South Africa, for the 2012 Future Champions Gauteng tournament (March 26-31), where he scored two goals in five appearances (four starts). He also made three appearances, all starts, during the Development Academy Playoffs (June 26-29) in Frisco, Texas.
