RECENT FORM VS. ATLANTA UNITED FC

It's officially the last game of the regular season, as the New England Revolution square off against last year's MLS Cup champs, Atlanta United FC, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday.

This will be only the sixth overall match between these two sides since Atlanta joined MLS as an expansion team in 2017, and the second of two meetings in the 2019 campaign.

Their most recent battle took place in April at Gillette Stadium, where last year's champions took down New England, 2-0. Coincidentally, the Revs' last visit to Atlanta was exactly one year ago to the date (October 6, 2018), when Atlanta took the 'W', 2-1, despite Juan Agudelo getting on the board during stoppage time.

However, the tables have turned since these encounters. The Revolution had the comeback of the MLS campaign after starting the season 2-8-2 before sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena took over, going 9-2-10 since mid-May to lead the team to their first playoff berth since 2015.

Atlanta (55 points) currently sit tied for second place in the East with the Philadelphia Union, and are fighting to lock up the No. 2 seed. The 7th-place Revs (45 points) have secured their spot in the postseason, but with a win over Atlanta and a loss for Toronto FC (against Columbus Crew SC), New England would move up to the No. 6 spot.

Interestingly enough, as these two teams face off, they could have a postseason rematch two weeks later pending Decision Day results that lead to Round 1 of the playoffs.

Overall Record vs. Atlanta: 0-3-2
Away Record vs. Atlanta: 0-2-0

Last meeting at Gillette Stadium: Atlanta 2, Revs 0 (April 13, 2019)
Last meeting at Mercedes-Benz Stadium: Atlanta 2, Revs 1 (October 6, 2018)

SHOW YOUR COLORS

Break out your new kit, “The Colonial!"

The Revs will be sporting their sleek secondary kits, which take inspiration from uniforms the colonial generals wore in the Revolutionary War.

These jerseys sport a white front with light blue sides and sleeves, and are tied together with navy blue trim. The light blue sides continue to cover the back of the jersey, topped near the neckline with the classic image of the Flag of New England.

You can own "The Colonial" by visiting the Gillette Stadium ProShop, or clicking HERE.
