Elizabeth Pehota and Jeff Lemieux will break down all the major storylines and starting XIs on Revolution Pregame Live, available live at 6 p.m. ahead of Wednesday night's showdown against longtime rivals, the New York Red Bulls, on the Revolution’s official Facebook and YouTube channels, as well as www.revolutionsoccer.net.
FIFTH ANNUAL PRIDE NIGHT
Wednesday's match marks the Revolution's fifth annual Pride Night at Gillette Stadium. In recognition of Pride Month and the Soccer for All Campaign, the club shows its commitment to combatting discrimination and violence based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The Revolution will show solidarity with the LGBTQIA community throughout the stadium and on the pitch while recognizing local organizations and individuals leading the ongoing pursuit of equal rights. Some of the Pride Night initiatives are below:
- A portion of all proceeds from sales of Revolution Pride merchandise at the Gillette Stadium Pro Shop will benefit the Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth – or BAGLY – with all sales throughout June.
- Members of BAGLY’s Youth Leadership Council will be honored as the Revs’ Heroes of the Match.
- The Progress Pride Flag will fly above Gillette Stadium and be represented throughout the stadium.
- Local R&B singer-songwriter Miranda Rae, winner of the 2020 Boston Music Awards R&B Artist of the Year, will perform both "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "Lift Every Voice and Sing," commonly referred to as "The Black National Anthem."
RECENT FORM VS. NEW YORK RED BULLS
Wednesday night's battle at Gillette Stadium will be the 78th regular-season meeting - and 90th in all competitions - between the New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls, whose rivalry goes all the way back to MLS' inaugural 1996 season.
New England is 3-1-2 in six meetings with RBNY in all competitions since the start of 2019. This run is highlighted most recently by the Revs' come-from-behind, 3-1 win just over a month ago at Gillette Stadium, with goals from Gustavo Bou, Tajon Buchanan and Adam Buksa.
In regular-season play, home-field advantage has historically played a large role in recent years as the Revs have won six of the last eight meetings (6-1-1) in Foxborough, while the Red Bulls have been triumphant in 10 of the 12 matchups at Red Bull Arena (0-10-2).
The Red Bulls are coming off a 2-0 win over Nashville SC, and sit at 5th place in the East going 4-4-0 through eight matches. They also have a game in hand on the Revs.
Meanwhile, New England continues their reign at No. 1 in the East going 6-1-2 through nine games with 20 points. The Revs extended their winning streak to four games with a thrilling 3-2 win at New York City FC over the weekend, and will look to make it five against the Red Bulls on Wednesday.
The Revs are also a perfect 4-0-0 at home, and will aim to extend their home winning streak to five games in this clash. Coincidentally, the last victory New England added to their perfect home form was also against the New York Red Bulls on May 22.
As the Revs look to stay atop the Eastern Conference standings and extend their home unbeaten run to five games, this will be a must-see competition.
Overall Record vs. Red Bulls: 32-28-17
Home Record vs. Red Bulls: 24-6-8
Last meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 3, Red Bulls 1 (May 22, 2021)
Last meeting at Red Bull Arena: Red Bulls 1, Revs 0 (October 28, 2020)

SHOW YOUR COLORS
On Wednesday night the Revs will be sporting "The Original," New England's primary kit designed as a nod to the club's original 1996 look. The sleek white stripe across the jersey echoes the angled stripes across the '96 kit, while the blue top is complemented by red shorts similar to those worn by the Revolution's first-ever squad.
You can own "The Original" by picking one up at the Gillette Stadium ProShop, or by ordering online HERE.
