RECENT FORM VS. CHARLOTTE FC

This will be the first-ever match between the New England Revolution and Charlotte FC as the North Carolina expansion side joined the league for its inaugural season this year.

In fact, this will be just the fourth-ever game for the newest team in the league. Charlotte is looking to snap a three-game winless streak in their inaugural campaign. Charlotte was shut out in their first two matches. However, defender Adam Armour changed that tone last weekend as he netted the club’s first-ever goal on the road against Atlanta United at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where the newcomers still ultimately fell, 2-1.

Charlotte is still searching for their first goal at home along with their first club victory. In Charlotte’s inaugural home game against the LA Galaxy, the hosts set a new MLS record for the highest-attended standalone game in league history with a record-high of 74,479 fans at Bank of America Stadium.

New England will be the next team to play at this venue. The Revs are coming off a devastating penalty shootout loss at Pumas in Mexico City that eliminated them from the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League in the Quarterfinals. New England and Pumas finished 3-3 on aggregate, with the Revs giving up their three-goal aggregate lead from leg one in Foxborough, before Pumas leveled the score and advanced on penalty kicks, 4-3.

The Revs traveled directly from Mexico City to Charlotte, N.C., for a quick three-day turnaround to kick off at Bank of America Stadium on Saturday.

As the Revs look to bounce back from their midweek loss and start their history against Charlotte with a win, this will be a must-see match.

Overall Record vs. Charlotte: 0-0-0

SHOW YOUR COLORS

The Revs will be sporting their new primary kit, “The Liberty,” on Saturday night in Charlotte. The bespoke pattern is inspired by Boston’s Freedom Trail, a walking trail through the heart of Boston which passes 16 historical sites from the American Revolution – which gives a nod to the club name. This sleek new look will be paired with blue shorts, conveying a defiant, bold and strong look.

The club is reverting to blue shorts for the first time since 2013 to complement “The Liberty.” This is to convey a bold and strong one-color look, in keeping with the New England’s defiant spirit while also enabling the new logo the chance to shine in its first time on a kit.

You can purchase “The Liberty” HERE.
