RECENT FORM VS. COLUMBUS CREW
This is a matchup that has given the Revolution trouble in recent years, as the Revs are just 2-9-6 in their last 17 meetings with the Crew dating back to the 2016 season, including a 1-0 loss to Columbus (then coached by Caleb Porter) in the 2020 Eastern Conference Championship. Despite those stumbles, the Revs have actually picked up points on each of their three previous visits to Lower.com Field, securing draws on all three occasions. These sides did meet once earlier this season at Gillette Stadium, Ema Boateng giving New England an early lead only for the visitors to respond with five unanswered goals in a 5-1 victory for Columbus.
The Revs (9-19-4, 31 pts.) were officially eliminated from playoff contention this past weekend, their second-half fightback falling short in a 2-1 loss to D.C. United to close out the home slate at Gillette Stadium. It's a result that continues a frustrating run for New England, who sparked playoff hopes with a 5-0 romp over CF Montréal in late August only to go 1-5-2 in the eight games since to seal their postseason fate and leave them looking towards 2025.
Columbus (17-6-9, 60 pts.), meanwhile, has already locked up the second seed in the Eastern Conference regardless of results in their final two games. The defending MLS Cup champions will be looking to build momentum as they head into the postseason, having gone 3-1-1 in the last five games and 9-3-4 overall this season at Lower.com Field.
The 2024 season will come to a close next Saturday (Oct. 19) in Florida, where the Revs will visit Inter Miami CF on Decision Day. There will be plenty to play for at Chase Stadium, as the Revs will be aiming to prevent Miami (71 pts.) from breaking the single-season points record that New England set themselves just three years ago in 2021 (73 pts.).
Overall Record vs. Columbus: 29-41-20
Away Record vs. Columbus: 10-22-11
Last meeting at Gillette Stadium: Crew 5, Revs 1 (June 29, 2024)
Last meeting at Lower.com Field: Revs 1, Crew 1 (April 15, 2023)

SHOW YOUR COLORS
Saturday night the Revs will wear their "Defiance" kit, which will serve as the team's community uniform once again for the 2024 MLS season.
The "Defiance" kit features a white jersey and red shorts, with red socks and red trim along the shoulder and sleeves. The shirt's design is punctuated by a bold red "strikethrough" across the chest that embodies New England's famous spirit of positive defiance. Revolution is the ultimate act of defiance, and the club's new kit honors that resilient spirit that sparked the American Revolution, laid the foundation for our country, and has resonated throughout the New England region for centuries.
