RECENT FORM VS. NEW YORK CITY FC
This will be the Revolution's first rematch of the season as they hosted New York City FC at Gillette Stadium on April 1, Carles Gil and Talles Magno trading goals in a 1-1 draw. That result kept the Revs unbeaten in their last four home games against NYCFC (2-0-2), but they have lost on their last two trips to Yankee Stadium, including a bizarre 4-2 defeat last July in which New England was whistled for an MLS record three penalties in the first half.
Both sides have been struggling for results in recent weeks, and the Revs will head to the Bronx winless in their last four league games (0-2-2) following consecutive 3-3 draws against Chicago Fire FC and Atlanta United FC. Wednesday night's visit to Mercedes-Benz Stadium was a rollercoaster for the Revs, who took an early 2-0 lead only to fall behind 3-2 in the late stages, before Gil scored his second goal of the game in the 93rd minute to rescue a point for the visitors.
NYCFC have had an even rougher run of form, going winless in their last six games (0-5-1) to drop all the way to 14th in the Eastern Conference, just one point ahead of last-place Inter Miami CF. Even NYCFC's home form has deserted them recently, as they started the year 4-0-1 at home before dropping back-to-back home games against the Philadelphia Union and FC Cincinnati within the past week.
Saturday afternoon's showdown will close out a stretch in which the Revs will play five of six on the road, as they'll return to Foxborough for the remainder of June with three straight home games against Inter Miami CF (June 10), Orlando City SC (June 17), and Toronto FC (June 24).
Overall Record vs. NYCFC: 10-9-5
Away Record vs. NYCFC: 4-6-2
Last meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 1, NYCFC 1 (April 1, 2023)
Last meeting at Yankee Stadium: NYCFC 4, Revs 2 (July 9, 2022)
