RECENT FORM VS. PHILADELPHIA UNION
Rivalry Week will see the Revs travel to Subaru Park for a visit to the Philadelphia Union, with recent history sparking a sense of bad blood between the pair of Northeastern sides. A playoff meeting in 2020 fueled that fire as the Revs went on the road to take down that year's Supporters' Shield champions in Round One, sparking a run to the Eastern Conference Final. New England then went 2-0-1 against Philly during the record-breaking 2021 campaign, while the Union got the best of the Revs last season with a win at Subaru Park and a draw at Gillette Stadium.
The Revs (7-2-3, 24 pts.) begin the week still atop the Supporters' Shield standings, level with FC Cincinnati on points but holding an edge on goal difference. That's despite seeing their eight-game unbeaten run come to an end last weekend at DRV PNK Stadium, where Carles Gil scored his third goal of the season to match Bobby Wood and Giacomo Vrioni for the team lead, but the Revs suffered a 2-1 loss, their first in MLS since mid-March.
Philadelphia (5-4-2, 17 pts.) have recovered from a slow start to the league campaign with three straight wins, climbing to fifth in the Eastern Conference standings. They've been particularly strong at home, going 3-1-1 at Subaru Park ahead of a midweek showdown with D.C. United in Chester. Jim Curtin's side also made a run to the Concacaf Champions League semifinals before falling to Los Angeles FC in a rematch of last year's MLS Cup final.
Saturday night's visit to Pennsylvania will be the Revolution's third straight road game before coming home to host Chicago Fire FC at Gillette Stadium next Saturday night.
Overall Record vs. Union: 10-20-8

Last meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 1, Union 1 (May 28, 2022)

Saturday night the Revs will wear their brand new "Defiance" kit, which will serve as the team's community uniform for the 2023 and 2024 MLS seasons.
The "Defiance" kit features a white jersey and red shorts, with red socks and red trim along the shoulder and sleeves. The shirt's design is punctuated by a bold red "strikethrough" across the chest that embodies New England's famous spirit of positive defiance. Revolution is the ultimate act of defiance, and the club's new kit honors that resilient spirit that sparked the American Revolution, laid the foundation for our country, and has resonated throughout the New England region for centuries.
