RECENT FORM VS. PORTLAND TIMBERS

The New England Revolution will open their 2022 campaign on the road against the Portland Timbers on Saturday night.

This will be the 11th overall meeting between these two teams, since the Timbers' inaugural season as an expansion side in 2011. The Revs and Timbers have not faced each other in approximately two-and-a-half years, prior to the pandemic. New England and Portland have played to four consecutive draws in their most recent meetings, dating back to 2016 and including a dramatic Revolution comeback for a 2-2 result in September 2019.

The Revs head to Portland searching for their first-ever win on the road at Providence Park. The Revs have gone 0-2-3 in their five meetings in the Rose City, and aim to turn the tables on the hosts with a victory in 2022.

As the Revs look to begin their new season on a positive note, this is a game that you won’t want to miss.

Overall Record vs. Timbers: 1-2-7
Away Record vs. Timbers: 0-2-3

Last Meeting at Providence Park: Revs 2, Timbers 2 (September 25, 2019)
Last Meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 1, Timbers 1 (September 1, 2018)

SHOW YOUR COLORS

The Revs will be sporting their new primary kit, “The Liberty,” on Saturday night in Portland. The bespoke pattern is inspired by Boston’s Freedom Trail, a walking trail through the heart of Boston which passes 16 historical sites from the American Revolution – which gives a nod to the club name. This sleek new look will be paired with blue shorts, conveying a defiant, bold and strong look.

The club is reverting to blue shorts for the first time since 2013 to complement “The Liberty.” This is to convey a bold and strong one-color look, in keeping with the New England’s defiant spirit while also enabling the new logo the chance to shine in its first time on a kit.

You can purchase “The Liberty” HERE.
