SCOTIABANK CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
The Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League (SCCL) is the region’s premier competition for clubs. It was introduced ahead of the 2008/09 season, replacing the Champions’ Cup, which had decided the Confederation's best side since 1962. The tournament qualifies its champion directly to the FIFA Club World Cup.
The following four MLS clubs remain actively competing in the 2022 edition:
New England Revolution – Supporters’ Shield winner
New York City FC – MLS Cup champions
CF Montréal – Canadian Championship winner
Seattle Sounders FC – Next-best MLS regular-season record
The Colorado Rapids – last year's Western Conference regular season winner – were also in SCCL 2022 and were eliminated by Comunicaciones FC in the Round of 16.

REVOLUTION HISTORY VS. PUMAS
The New England Revolution and Pumas will square off for a second time in an eight-day span as part of the Scotiabank Concacaf Champion League’s Quarterfinals (SCCL). This match will be the second leg, played away in Mexico City at Estadio Olimpico Universitario.
This will be the third-ever meeting between these two sides. The Revs and Pumas squared off at Gillette Stadium in Leg 1 of the Quarterfinals last week, when New England defeated Pumas 3-0 to take a major three-goal advantage as they head down to Mexico City.
In a winter wonderland as snow fell in Foxborough during Leg 1, Sebastian Lletget opened the scoring to give New England momentum with an early lead in the 19th minute before Adam Buksa locked up the victory with a second-half brace, including a dramatic stoppage time insurance goal.
This victory gives the Revs an unbeaten record against Pumas coupled with their one previous meeting during the 2010 SuperLiga Group Stage at Gillette Stadium, where the Revs claimed a 1-0 victory over Pumas. It also increases New England’s winning record when facing Liga MX historically, going 8-1-1 in 10 all-time meetings against these competitors, all at Gillette Stadium.
As New England and Pumas square off one final time to determine who will advance to the SCCL Semifinals, New England will need to maintain or add to their 3-0 aggregate lead. As of now with the Revs leading, Pumas would need to score at least three goals – without New England scoring any – to simply force a penalty shootout.
If the Revs can hold onto their 3-0 lead and/or lock it up with additional goals to secure the aggregate win in Mexico City, this will enable them to move on to the Semifinals on April 5-7 (Leg 1) and April 12-14 (Leg 2), when they would meet either CF Montreal (MLS) or Cruz Azul (Liga MX). Cruz Azul currently hold a 1-0 aggregate lead in that series ahead of the second leg in Canada.
With this do-or-die game to move on to the next round of SCCL, this will be an international battle south of the border that you won’t want to miss.
Overall Record vs. Pumas: 2-0-0
Away Record vs. Pumas: 0-0-0
Last Meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 3, Pumas 0 (March 9, 2022)

SHOW YOUR COLORS
The Revs will be sporting their new primary kit, “The Liberty,” on Wednesday night in Mexico City. The bespoke pattern is inspired by Boston’s Freedom Trail, a walking trail through the heart of Boston which passes 16 historical sites from the American Revolution – which gives a nod to the club name. This sleek new look will be paired with blue shorts, conveying a defiant, bold and strong look.
The club is reverting to blue shorts for the first time since 2013 to complement “The Liberty.” This is to convey a bold and strong one-color look, in keeping with the New England’s defiant spirit while also enabling the new logo the chance to shine in its first time on a kit.
