RECENT FORM VS. ATLANTA UNITED FC

These sides played out one of the wildest games of the MLS season on May 31, ultimately sharing the points in a 3-3 draw. Carles Gil and Bobby Wood helped the Revs race out to a 2-0 halftime lead only for Atlanta to storm back with three straight goals after the break, before Gil popped up again in stoppage time to score his second of the game and leave the teams level. That result stretched the Revs' unbeaten run in this series to five games (3-0-2), including wins in each of the last two showdowns in Foxborough, both by a 2-1 scoreline.

New England (10-4-7, 37 pts.) had gone seven straight without a loss prior to Saturday night's 2-1 setback at Red Bull Arena, where controversy dominated the postgame headlines. Latif Blessing was shown straight red in the 60th minute but still the shorthanded Revs battled, and it appeared that Andrew Farrell's third career goal in his 320th appearance had stolen a point in stoppage time only for the strike to be negated by an offside offense. Despite the loss New England remain third in the East, just one point back of second-place Nashville SC and with a game in hand. The Revs will now host two games in a four-day span at Gillette Stadium, where they've yet to taste defeat in 2023 (7-0-3).

Atlanta (9-5-8, 35 pts.), meanwhile, enter this midweek showdown just two points back of the Revs in the East's fifth spot. Since a humbling 4-0 loss at the Red Bulls in late June, the Five Stripes have responded with back-to-back shutout wins over the Philadelphia Union and CF Montréal to begin July. In fact, that loss at Red Bull Arena was Atlanta's only defeat in the last 10 games (4-1-5), while they've managed at least a point from seven of their 11 road games this campaign (2-4-5).

The Revs will host Atlanta United (Wednesday) and D.C. United (Saturday) this week before breaking from league play until August 20, as they'll begin the Leagues Cup group stage next week against the Red Bulls and LIGA MX side Club Atlético de San Luis.
