LEAGUES CUP 2024
For the second straight year, Major League Soccer and Liga MX will pause their regular seasons from late July to late August, allowing all 47 first division professional clubs in both leagues to compete in a World Cup-style tournament, officially sanctioned by Concacaf. The competition will see the top three finishers qualify for the Concacaf Champions Cup. Last year, Inter Miami CF won the inaugural edition of the event, while Nashville SC and the Philadelphia Union also earned berths in the Concacaf Champions Cup as part of an MLS sweep.
The competition began on Friday, July 26, and will feature a total of 77 games hosted at stadiums throughout the United States and Canada, with the final set for Sunday, August 25. Specifically designed to celebrate the rivalry between North America's top clubs, the tournament features a Group Stage made up of two regions (East and West), followed by knockout rounds, beginning with the Round of 32.
Groups will consist of three teams, with regulation wins earning three points. There will be no draws in the Group Stage, as games tied after 90 minutes will see both teams awarded one point, with a penalty shootout then deciding which team earns an additional point. The top two teams in each group will advance to the Round of 32.
Fans in more than 100 countries and regions will be able to watch Leagues Cup on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.

RECENT FORM VS. NASHVILLE SC
This will be just the eighth all-time meeting between MLS originals New England and relative newcomers Nashville, and the first-ever outside league action. The overall series has been remarkably even with both teams carrying a record of 2-2-3 into Tuesday night's meeting, though the Revs have the upper hand this season, having claimed a 2-1 win at GEODIS Park in early June courtesy of goals from Carles Gil and Esmir Bajraktarević (his first in MLS). The Revs are also unbeaten (1-0-2) in three previous meetings with Nashville at Gillette Stadium, including a 1-0 win in the most recent showdown last March.
Jack Panayotou's first senior goal and a clean sheet effort from the entire squad got the Revs off to a perfect start in Leagues Cup group play last weekend, claiming a 1-0 win over Mazatlán F.C. to race to the top of the East 5 group. That leaves New England in great position to advance, as the Revs will book a spot in the Round of 32 with a win, draw (regardless of penalty shootout result) or one-goal loss on Tuesday night against Nashville. Only a loss by multiple goals would see the Revolution eliminated from Leagues Cup.
Full standings and tiebreaking procedures for the Leagues Cup 2024 Group Stage are available HERE.
Nashville began the B.J. Callaghan era this past Wednesday night, suffering a 2-0 loss to Mazatlán in the former USMNT assistant coach's first game in charge at GEODIS Park. Including league play, it was Nashville's seventh straight loss dating back to late June, and five of those seven losses have been by multiple goals, including three straight shutouts. Nashville will need to get that string of results turned around in short order, as only a win by multiple goals on Tuesday night would see them advance to the Leagues Cup Round of 32.
All matches in the Round of 32 will be held between August 7-9, with potential matchups and dates still to be determined. The Revs will return to MLS regular season action on August 24, when they'll visit CF Montréal at Stade Saputo.
Overall Record vs. Nashville SC: 2-2-3
Home Record vs. Nashville SC: 1-0-2
Last meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 1, Nashville SC 0 (March 18, 2023)
Last meeting at GEODIS Park: Revs 2, Nashville SC 1 (June 1, 2024)

SHOW YOUR COLORS
Tuesday night the Revolution will be wearing the "Boston Tea Party" kit, which will serve as the club's primary uniform for the 2024 and 2025 MLS seasons.
Inspired by Boston's proud history of positive defiance, the kit commemorates the recent 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party in December 1773. The shirt design is highlighted by red and white vertical waves on the jersey's front, which represent the ripples in the Boston Harbor made by East India Training Company's tea creates as the American revolutionaries emptied 45 tons of tea into the water.
The navy jersey features red shoulders with three white stripes, a throwback to earlier Revolution jerseys, paired with navy shorts and navy socks, featuring red and white striping on top.
