RECENT FORM VS. SPORTING KANSAS CITY
When these sides squared off last June at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, it was the first meeting between them in more than three years. New England came out on top in that showdown, getting a late goal from Ema Boateng to claim a 2-1 victory in Djordje Petrović's first MLS start. Saturday night will mark Sporting KC's first trip to Gillette Stadium in five years, having last visited Foxborough in April 2018, when the Revs claimed a 1-0 win on the strength of a Teal Bunbury goal. Of the Revolution's 18-man squad from that match, only Brandon Bye and Andrew Farrell remain on the roster.
Last weekend's 1-1 draw with the Columbus Crew brought mixed emotions for the Revs (5-1-2, 17 pts.), who put together a strong performance and climbed back to the top of the Eastern Conference standings, but they were also frustrated to concede a 98th-minute equalizer at Lower.com Field. Now the Revs will return home to Gillette Stadium, where they're 3-0-1 on the season and coming off a dominant 4-0 win over CF Montréal.
Sporting KC (0-5-3, 3 pts.), meanwhile, are off to one of the worst starts in MLS history, particularly in the attacking end of the field. In fact, their two goals scored through eight games are the fewest at this stage of a season in MLS history, as no team previously had scored fewer than four goals through their first eight games, according to Opta. SKC will enter the weekend as one of just two sides in MLS - along with the LA Galaxy - yet to win a game, and they officially sit last in the MLS standings based on goal difference.
Saturday night begins a hectic week for the Revs, who'll play three home games in an eight-day stretch, hosting Sporting KC and FC Cincinnati in league matches and Hartford Athletic (USL Championship) in the Third Round of the U.S. Open Cup.
Overall Record vs. Sporting KC: 19-27-13
Home Record vs. Sporting KC: 12-11-7
Last meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 1, Sporting KC 0 (April 28, 2018)
Last meeting at Children's Mercy Park: Revs 2, Sporting KC 1 (June 12, 2022)

The "One Planet Kit" will be worn leaguewide on Matchday 9, as Major League Soccer and its clubs celebrate Earth Day and continue the goal of becoming the most sustainable league in sports.
Made entirely out of Parley Ocean plastic – a recycled material created from reimagined plastic waste – the hand-drawn kit design pays homage to the ocean floor each jersey aims to protect. Blended into the swirling print, the repeating wordmark "End Plastic Waste" serves as a call to action uniting each club in the collective stewardship of our planet.
