Damario McIntosh became the fourth New England Revolution Academy product to compete in the MLS NEXT All-Star Game on Tuesday afternoon, joining Esmir BajraktareviÄ (2022), Jack Panayotou (2022), and Olger Escobar (2023) in representing the Revs at the league's showcase youth event.
McIntosh helped the East All-Stars complete a rousing comeback at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, where the East trailed the West 2-0 after just 14 minutes before ultimately running out 4-2 winners. McIntosh entered the game at halftime with the score tied 2-2, playing alongside the Philadelphia Union's 14-year-old phenom Cavan Sullivan, who was named the game's Most Valuable Player after scoring the game-winning goal from the penalty spot.
The All-Star appearance continued what has been a monumental summer for 16-year-old McIntosh, who signed his first professional contract with Revolution II last month, becoming the 12th Revolution Academy player to sign his first pro contract with New England's MLS NEXT Pro side. The young right back is one of Revolution II's minutes leaders this season, starting 15 of the season's first 18 games, including a 76-minute shift on Sunday at SeatGeek Stadium, where his cross helped force an own goal in a 3-2 loss to Chicago Fire FC II.
McIntosh and Revs II will now have a brief mid-summer break, as they won't return to action until August 3, when they'll visit Atlanta United 2 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw, Georgia. Revolution fans can watch that match on MLSNEXTPro.com at 8:30 p.m. ET.
