FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The arrival to, and impact of, U.S. National Team midfielder Jermaine Jones on the New England Revolution is the subject of the newest “MLS Insider” from Emmy-award winning Hock Films. The short, titled “Jermaine Jones’ New Home” was released today on KickTV and YouTube.
The feature focuses on Jones’ arrival in New England, taking viewers through Jones’ first day at Gillette Stadium for his first training session and presentation. Crews came back later to speak with Jones, Revolution head coach Jay Heaps and teammate Charlie Davies, who put Jones’ presence in perspective.
“It’s an energy, it’s an instant respect,” Heaps said. “It’s something we all knew we were missing.”
“He, right away, realized what this league’s about. How important making the playoffs are. Once he came in, we were already in a battle for this playoff spot. He got that right away,” Heaps continued.
Crews also followed Jones and Davies one afternoon as the two explored downtown Boston.
“I think the average American soccer fan, they’re like, ‘Oh, whoa, who is this guy?’ And he’s got cool hair, too,” Davies said. “That was awesome to see him do so well in the World Cup, and now we’re fortunate to have him in New England.”
