FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (May 9, 2024) – The Revolution Academy Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19 teams are heading to Maryland SoccerPlex to compete in the 2024 MLS NEXT Flex. New England will kick off group play tomorrow. Last season, all three of New England’s teams went undefeated in the competition, clinching spots in the 2023 MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs, with the U-19s bringing home their second consecutive national championship.
The U-19s will play against RSL Arizona, Diablo Valley Wolves, and Houston Rangers in Group G play at MLS NEXT Flex. Cristiano Carlos (2008- Chicopee Mass.) tallied the second goal of the match and his second of the season, before Toronto equalized in 90th minute. The U-15s are set to take on Inter Miami FC, Strikers FC, and Portland Timbers in Group F action, following a loss to Toronto FC, 3-0, last Sunday.
New England’s U-14s and U-13s were also in action last weekend, facing off against Rochester New York FC. The U-14s earned a 4-1 win over Rochester last Saturday. Lucas Pereira (2010 – East Merrimack, N.H.) tallied twice while Rikelme De Almeida (2011 – Easton, Mass.) also scored in the match, recording his 11th goal of the season with the U-14s.
The U-13s extended their unbeaten streak to 30 consecutive matches with a 5-0 win over Rochester New York FC. While the U-15s, U-17s, and U-19s compete in MLS NEXT Flex for the next five days, New England’s U-14s and U-13s continue the MLS NEXT regular season with a visit to New York City FC on Saturday.
