New England Revolution center back Henry Kessler has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday presented by Audi for the second time through the season's first four weeks, helping the Revs to yet another clean sheet in their 1-0 win over Nashville SC this past Saturday night at Gillette Stadium.
Kessler, making his 75th start for the Revolution in all competitions since being selected sixth overall in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, was a key figure in the clean sheet with team highs in both recoveries (13) and tackles won (3). His most significant contribution likely came in the 15th minute, when he stepped in to block a point blank chance from Nashville midfielder Jacob Shaffelburg.
Gustavo Bou also earned a place on the MLS Team of the Matchday bench, providing the difference in New England's win with his first goal of the season early in the second half.
Kessler, Bou, and the Revs will look to improve upon their 3-1-0 record when they return to the road on Saturday night for a visit to D.C. United at Audi Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage available for free on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app, while the radio call can be found on 98.5 The Sports Hub and 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA.
