Gustavo Bou scored one goal and set up two others in Wednesday night’s 4-1 win over CF Montréal, landing the New England Revolution forward on the MLS Team of the Week for the third time this season.
Bou’s goal rounded out the scoring in the 86th minute as the Argentine attacker ran onto a pass from Wilfrid Kaptoum before cutting back onto his right foot and firing inside the far post. It was Bou’s 13th goal of the season, tying him with Adam Buksa for the team lead and tying him for fourth in MLS.
Earlier in the game Bou assisted on Buksa’s 13th goal, delivering a right-wing cross for the Polish forward to head home. Bou now has assists in three straight games and a total of seven helpers on the season, more than he had in 2019 and 2020 combined (5). Although he wasn’t credited with a second assist, Bou also set up the Revolution’s third goal, as his low cross was redirected for a Montréal own goal.
Bou’s 20 combined goals (13) and assists (7) are tied for fourth-most in MLS.
