KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The New England Revolution (10-14-5; 35 pts.) fell to Sporting Kansas City (11-6-11; 44 pts.), 3-1, at Children's Mercy Park on Saturday evening. Revolution forward Teal Bunbury put the visiting side on the board quickly, tallying in the fourth minute of the match. Minutes later, following video review, forward Krisztián Németh was issued a red card for a foul on Sporting Kansas City's Graham Zusi, forcing the Revs to finish the match with 10 men. Goals scored by Sporting Kansas City's Gerso Fernandes and Diego Rubio put the home side on the front foot heading into the half. Rubio completed his brace in the second half to give Kansas City their third and final goal of the match.

A few Revolution players achieved milestones in tonight's match. Forward Teal Bunbury made his 200^th career MLS appearance, while forward Krisztián Németh made his first start as a Revolution player. In addition, defender Chris Tierney recorded his 457^th career corner kick, surpassing Steve Ralston for most corner kicks taken in club history.

New England returns to action next Saturday, Sept. 23, when it will return to Gillette Stadium to play Toronto FC.
