New York, N.Y. – The New England Revolution (10-10-9, 39 pts.) fell to New York City FC (15-5-8, 53 pts.), 2-1, at Yankee Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Forward Juan Fernando Caicedo put New England on the front foot by scoring the game's opening goal in the second minute – the quickest goal by a Revolution player this season – but a red card to defender Antonio Delamea in the ninth minute left the visitors with 10 men for the remainder of the match. The Revolution, backed by 700 traveling Season Members, couldn't hold on, as New York City's Jesús Medina equalized in the 70^th minute and converted the game-winning penalty in the 96^th minute of play.

Caicedo's goal is his fifth of the season, tied with Teal Bunbury for third most among Revolution players in 2019. Andrew Farrell recorded his first assist of the season – and his first since July 14, 2018 – when he played Caicedo through for the goal. In net, Matt Turner tied his single-game career high with nine saves.

This afternoon's result snaps New England's club record away unbeaten run of eight games, which dated back to a 1-1 draw on May 18 at Montreal. With five games remaining in the regular season, the Revolution are currently in sixth place in the Eastern Conference – two points back of the New York Red Bulls for fifth place, and three points back of D.C. United for fourth place with a game in hand.

New England returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 14 when the club visits Orlando City SC at Exploria Stadium. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Boston, 98.5 The Sports Hub, and in Portuguese on 1260 AM Nossa Radio.

• The Revolution fell to New York City FC, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon, moving the club's record to 10-10-9 (39 pts.) on the season, including a 3-5-6 record in away games.
• New England's all-time record against New York City moves to 4-4-4, including a 2-3-2 mark in games played at Yankee Stadium. The loss snaps New England's three-game unbeaten run against NYCFC.

Caicedo Scores Revolution's Quickest Goal of 2019

• Forward Juan Fernando Caicedo opened the scoring in the second minute of today's contest, marking the quickest goal scored by a Revolution player this season.
• Caicedo narrowly edged out Gustavo Bou, who scored in the third minute of New England's 4-1 win on July 27 vs. Orlando. Teal Bunbury also scored in the fourth minute on July 12 at D.C. United.
• Caicedo's five goals are tied with Bunbury for third most among Revolution players this season. He also owns three assists across 23 appearances in his debut MLS campaign.

Turner Matches Single-Game Career High with Nine Stops

• Goalkeeper Matt Turner recorded nine saves, matching his previous single-game career high, which he set on Aug. 17 at New York.
• Turner's nine saves propel him past Juergen Sommer and teammate Brad Knighton for sixth most saves in Revolution history with 151.
• He also tied Knighton for sixth place in club history in both games played in goal and games started in goal with 43.
• On the season, Turner owns a 7-3-5 record with 68 saves.

Farrell Registers First Assist of Season

• Defender Andrew Farrell notched his first assist of the season on Juan Fernando Caicedo's second-minute goal.
• The assist was Farrell's first since July 14, 2018 vs. LA Galaxy, and the eighth of his professional career.
• Farrell also registered eight clearances and three interceptions – both team highs – in a 90-minute shift in central defense.

Delamea Issued Red Card; Will Serve One-Game Suspension next Saturday

• Defender Antonio Delamea was ejected from today's match in the ninth minute, after a Video Review determined a denial of an obvious goal scoring opportunity.
• Delamea will serve his one-game suspension during New England's match at Orlando City SC next Saturday.
