FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (7-8-6, 27 pts.) defeated Vancouver Whitecaps FC (4-10-8, 20 pts.), 4-0, at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday evening. Newly-signed Designated Player Gustavo Bou scored the game's opening goal – a phenomenal right-footed volley from distance – in his MLS debut to help the Revolution's league-best unbeaten streak reach nine games. Diego Fagundez, Carles Gil, and Teal Bunbury all added insurance goals in the final eight minutes of the match to give New England its largest winning margin of the season.

Bou, acquired by the Revolution on July 10 via transfer from Liga MX side Club Tijuana, found the back of the net moments before halftime to put the hosts up heading into the break. Fellow newcomer Carles Gil delivered the corner kick to register his seventh assist of the season – tied for eighth-most in MLS – and later added his sixth goal of the season. Gil has recorded a goal or an assist in five of the Revolution's last six games, including five assists over that span.

Diego Fagundez opened his 2019 account with a goal in the 83^rd minute, and notched his second assist of the season on Gil's goal four minutes later. Fagundez's goal was the 51^st of his career, which moves him into a tie with Lee Nguyen for second-most in club history. Teal Bunbury capped off the scoring for the Revs in the 90^th minute, marking his fourth consecutive league game with a goal, and his seventh goal over the team's last eight matches across all competitions.

Bou Scores Game-Winning Goal in MLS and Revolution Debut

• Forward Gustavo Bou, who was acquired by the Revolution via transfer from Liga MX side Tijuana on July 10, scored the game-winning goal in tonight's contest – his MLS debut.
• Bou paced the team in shots on target (3) and chances created (6), and added six shots in 79 minutes of action.
• The 29-year-old Argentine arrives in New England with 12 years of experience across Argentina, Mexico, and Ecuador, where he recorded 120 combined goals and assists with top-flight clubs including River Plate and Racing Club.

Revolution's Unbeaten Streak Reaches Nine Games

• New England extended its league-best unbeaten streak to nine games with tonight's win. 

·The nine-game unbeaten streak is tied for the second longest in club history. New England also recorded a nine-game undefeated run in 2014 – a run that spanned the regular season and postseason leading into MLS Cup 2014 – as well as 2011.

• With results at Cincinnati on July 21 and vs. Orlando on July 27, the Revolution can match the longest unbeaten streak in club history of 11 games, which was set in 2005.

Gil Submits Sixth Goal and Seventh Assist of Debut MLS Campaign

• Midfielder Carles Gil delivered the corner kick on Gustavo Bou's goal, and later scored himself with a left-footed shot in the 86^th minute.
• Gil's 13 combined goal and assists are third most among all MLS newcomers, second only to Orlando City SC's Nani (15) and Toronto FC's Alejandro Pozuelo (17).
• Gil also registered nine shots, which ties a single-game club record for most shots in a game. That total has been matched five times previously, most recently by Taylor Twellman on Oct. 16, 2008.

Fagundez Ties Lee Nguyen for Second Most Goals in Revs History

• Midfielder Diego Fagundez entered the match in the 79^th minute and opened his 2019 account moments later in the 82^nd minute, doubling New England's lead and moving him into a tie with Lee Nguyen for second most goals scored in club history.
• Fagundez, who owns 51 goals for his MLS and Revolution career, is now second only to Taylor Twellman's 101 goals scored with New England.
• Fagundez also recorded his second assist of the season on Carles Gil's goal in the 86^th minute. He needs six more assists to reach 50 helpers for his MLS career.

Bunbury Scores for Fourth Consecutive Game

• Forward Teal Bunbury extended his goal-scoring streak to four games with a tally in the 90^th minute. Only Atlanta United’s Josef Martinez has a longer active goal-scoring streak (six games).
• Bunbury has scored a goal in five of New England's last six league games, and seven goals in its last eight games across all competitions.
• Bunbury's five goals since June 1 are tied for second most in MLS, trailing only Atlanta's Josef Martinez, who has scored seven times during that span.

Penilla Tallies Two Assists Off the Bench

• Forward Cristian Penilla registered two assists after entering the match as a substitute in the 62^nd minute. Penilla combined with Diego Fagundez for his goal in the 82^nd minute, before playing Teal Bunbury through for his tally in the 90^th minute.
• Penilla's four assists are second most among Revolution players this season. He also owns three goals across 16 appearances on the year.

Revolution Starting XI Sees Two Changes from Friday

·The Revolution's starting lineup saw two changes from the club’s last league match on July 12 at D.C. United. DeJuan Jones replaced Edgar Castilloat left back, while newly acquired Designated Player Gustavo Bou made his MLS debut in place of Wilfried Zahibo, who was suspended.

·Zahibo will be eligible to return on Sunday as tonight’s absence fulfilled his one-game suspension from a red card on July 12 at D.C. United tonight.
