SANDY, Utah – The New England Revolution (9-13-11, 38 pts.) fell to Real Salt Lake (14-12-7, 49 pts.) at Rio Tinto Stadium on Thursday evening in the club’s final away contest of the season. The Revolution were unable to find a response to three first-half goals by Real Salt Lake, and the sides traded goals after halftime to finish 4-1.

Real Salt Lake dominated the first half and jumped out to a 3-0 lead over New England before the 30-minute mark. Nick Besler opened the scoring in the fourth minute, finishing off a cross from Corey Baird. Sebastian Saucedo then doubled the lead with a low strike from in the 14^th minute, and Baird broke through for his eighth goal of the season in the 29^th minute.

Teal Bunbury, making his career-high 31^st appearance of the season, had an opportunity to pull one back for New England in the first half after drawing a penalty, but his attempt from the spot was saved by RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando in the 35^th minute. Salt Lake added another tally with a goal from Damir Kreilach in the 50^th minute. Kelyn Rowe was finally able to put New England on the board with a headed finish, his first goal of the season, in the 69^th minute.

New England will conclude the 2018 season on Sunday, Oct. 28 with a home match against the Montreal Impact. The contest at Gillette Stadium kicks off at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Boston, 98.5 The Sports Hub, and in Portuguese on 1260 AM Nossa Radio.

Revolution Drop Away Match at Real Salt Lake, 4-1

• The Revolution (9-13-11, 38 pts.) fell to Real Salt Lake, 4-1, at Rio Tinto Stadium on Thursday evening. New England is now 2-9-6 away from home.
• New England drops to 6-10-5 all-time against Real Salt Lake, with a 2-6-3 record on the road.

Rowe Opens 2018 Account with Header

• Midfielder Kelyn Rowe scored his first goal of the 2018 season in the 69^th minute, heading in a free kick from Diego Fagundez. The seventh-year player also has two assists on the year.
• Rowe now owns 29 career MLS goals, his last one coming in the 2017 season finale on Oct. 22, 2017 at Montreal.

Fagundez Records 10^th Assist of Season

• Midfielder Diego Fagundez delivered his 10^th assist of the season with a free kick that led to Kelyn Rowe’s 69^th-minute goal. The 10 assists mark the first time Fagundez has reached double digits in a season, and his 42 career helpers are the third most in club history.
• The Revolution Homegrown continues to lead all of MLS in chances created away from home with 51 on the season, 13 more than any other player.  Fagundez also leads the league with 20 chances created from set play on the road.

Bunbury Sets Career High in Starts

• Forward Teal Bunbury made his 31^st appearance of the 2018 season and earned his 29^th selection to the Starting XI. His 29 starts mark a new personal best for the ninth-year striker, surpassing his previous high of 28 starts in 2014.
• The 31 games played also tie a career high for Bunbury, equaling his 31 appearances with New England in the 2014 campaign.
• Bunbury earned a penalty kick in the first half, New England’s fifth penalty of the year, but had his shot blocked by Nick Rimando in the 35^th minute.

SuperDraft Pick Segbers Makes MLS Debut

• Midfielder/defender Mark Segbers made his MLS debut in tonight’s match, replacing Scott Caldwell as a halftime substitute. The ninth-overall pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft recorded 69 touches, two tackles, and one foul won in 45 minutes of action.
• The University of Wisconsin graduate previously made his Revolution debut in the club’s U.S. Open Cup Fourth Round loss on June 5 at Louisville City FC, where he scored his first Revs goal.
• Segbers made 19 appearances and 15 starts in two separate loan stints with USL side Orange County SC in 2018, where he scored two goals with three assists.  

Revolution Make No Changes to Starting XI

• Revolution Head Coach Brad Friedel made no changes to the club’s starting lineup from its most recent match vs. Orlando City SC on Oct. 13. That is the first time Friedel has left the Revolution lineup unchanged in consecutive matches since June 2 and June 9, 2018.
• Midfielder Zachary Herivaux and defender Antonio Delamea were unavailable for the match due to international duty with Haiti and Slovenia, respectively.
