Revolution Academy Teams Update: October 7

Zach Herivaux vs. New York Red Bulls - Youth Academy

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution’s youth teams posted their second straight perfect week, going 3-0-0 against FC Bolts Celtic on Sunday, October 5, at Mount Ida College in Newton, Mass. The Under-18 team kicked off the day with a 3-1 win, before the Under-16 and Under-14 teams posted 4-0 and 1-0 victories, respectively.

UNDER-18s

The Under-18s fought back from a goal down to earn a 3-1 win over FC Bolts Celtic on Sunday, with Chris Arling (Windham, N.H.) notching a goal and two assists. Andres Amador gave FC Bolts the lead just before halftime, but the Revs responded with three goals in a strong second half. The Revs were level in the 51st minute when Arling rose to head in John Wilkins’ (Natick, Mass.) free kick delivery. Arling then turned provider in the 67th minute when he played in Bryant Nardizzi (Framingham, Mass.), who rifled his shot past the goalkeeper. The Revs extended their lead late when the combination of Arling and Nardizzi again linked up. Zach Herivaux (Brookline, Mass.) created a turnover in the midfield and played through Arling, who back-heeled the ball to Nardizzi for the finish from close range. Revs goalkeeper Bill Sinibaldi (Plaistow, N.H.) made four saves in the win.

UNDER-16s

The Under-16s earned a 4-0 win over FC Bolts Celtic to post their fourth win in five games. Andrew Barrowman (Marshfield, Mass.) put the Revs ahead in the 12th minute, finishing into the lower right corner after being set up by Justin Rennicks (South Hamilton, Mass.). Barrowman scored again three minutes later after the Bolts goalkeeper dropped a corner kick. The U16s added two late goals for the four-goal victory. Izaiah Jennings (Barrington, R.I.) slid the ball through to Isaac Angking (Providence, R.I.) to finish in the 71st minute and, four minutes later, Isaque Couto (Marlborough, Mass.) beat his man and scored after Joe Brito (Bolton, Conn.) found him with a pass. Trey Miller (Monson, Mass.) made six saves to preserve the shutout for the U16s, their fourth in five games this season.

UNDER-14s

The Under-14s topped their local rivals, 1-0. Gustavo Cassemiro (Framingham, Mass.) scored the only goal of the game after Tim Ennin (East Hartford, Conn.) played the ball wide to Laz Dorogi (West Boylston, Mass.). Dorogi then sent in a cross for Cassemiro to finish at the far post. Revs goalkeeper Pat Quinn (Middleton, Mass.) made four saves in the shutout.

The Under-18 and Under-16 teams are next in action on Sunday, October 19, when they travel to face Empire Revolution at McAvoy Park in Rochester, N.Y. The U18s will kick off at 10 a.m., with the U16s following at 12:30 p.m. The Under-14 team is back in action on Sunday, October 12, when they host World Class FC at Milton High School in Milton, Mass., with kickoff set for 10 a.m.
