FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – All four New England Revolution Academy teams continued their fall campaigns over the weekend. The Under-19s, Under-17s, and Under-15s visited the Montreal Impact in Quebec and came away with a 2-1-0 record, while the Under-14s faced Valeo Futbol Club FC in Newton, Mass.
This weekend, the Under-17s, Under-15s, and Under-14s continue their fall seasons against New York Soccer Club in Purchase, N.Y. on Saturday, and Cedar Stars Academy – Bergen in Ridgefield Park, N.J. on Sunday.
WEEKHIGHLIGHTS
- Goalkeeper Austin Causey (Gorton, Mass. — 2002) recorded a shutout in his first appearance with the U-19s this season, a 1-0 win against the Montreal Impact U-19s.
- Midfielder Kaoru Fujiwara (Lexington, Mass. — 2001) scored the U-19s' lone goal in the team's win against Montreal. Kaoru combined with his brother, Hikaru Fujiwara (Lexington, Mass. — 2003), on the game-winning goal.
- Forward Malcolm Fry (Groton, Mass. — 2005) registered a brace, including the game-winning goal, in the U-15s' 3-1 win against the Impact. Fry owns a team-best nine goals through eight appearances with the U-15s this season. He also recorded an assist on defender John La Belle's (Peabody, Mass. — 2005) goal in the win.
- Midfielder Giuseppe Ciampa (Westwood, Mass. — 2006) scored the U-14s' lone goal in its match against Valeo Futbol Club. Ciampa has scored four goals this season, which is tied for third-most among the Revs' U-14s.
