FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – When the United States men’s national soccer team faces Portugal on Sunday, June 22, in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup, the hottest place to watch the game will be House of Blues Boston (15 Lansdowne St., Boston, Mass. 02215). This is a 21+ event.
The New England Revolution will host a special World Cup Watch Party for the U.S.-Portugal match at the popular Lansdowne St. venue, with doors opening at 5 p.m. Kickoff for the match is set for 6 p.m. The match will be shown on a large screen on the House of Blues stage.
The United States’ Clint Dempsey, Tim Howard, and Michael Bradley will take on Portugal’s highly-ranked squad that includes reigning international player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo in a star-studded match-up in Group G.
Admission to the event will be free, and the event is expected to reach capacity. In 2012, a similar watch party at House of Blues for the U.S.-England match drew almost 1,200 people. Fans planning to come to the watch party are encouraged to arrive early.
The first 200 people through the House of Blues doors will receive a free “For Club and Country” scarf as a gift.
New England Revolution players will be among the many VIPs in attendance.
A raffle/silent auction featuring signed merchandise from around the soccer world will be held at the event, with all proceeds benefiting AmericaSCORES Boston, which uses youth development programming based around soccer, academics and the arts to inspire Boston youth to lead healthy lives, be engaged students, and have the confidence and character to make a difference in the world.
