FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution will open the home portion of their 2022 Major League Soccer schedule this afternoon against FC Dallas. New England’s first home match of the season kicks off at 1:30 p.m. ET and airs on TV38, myRITV, 98.5 The Sports Hub, and 1260 AM Nossa (Portuguese). Lineup Notes:

  • Today’s Starting XI features one change from last Saturday’s season opener in Portland, with defender Henry Kessler starting in place of Omar Gonzalez
  • New England owns an 8-1-6 record over its last 15 home openers. The Revs defeated D.C. United, 1-0, in last season’s Gillette Stadium debut.
  • Bruce Arena, the reigning MLS Coach of the Year, enters today’s match just one win shy of surpassing Sigi Schmid (240) for the most regular season wins in league history. Arena, in his fourth season with New England, holds a 38-15-24 record since joining the Revolution in 2019.
  • Sebastian Lletget will start in front of the home fans at Gillette Stadium for the first time this afternoon. Lletget, registering his 160th MLS appearance, scored in his New England debut last Saturday, becoming the first Revolution player to do so since Gustavo Bou in 2019. 
  • Carles Gil, the reigning 2021 Landon Donovan MLS Most Valuable Player, collected his first assist of the season last Saturday. New England owns an unbeaten 22-0-8 record when the Designated Player records an assist (regular season and playoffs).
  • Fellow Designated Players Gustavo Bou and Adam Buksa also feature in today’s Starting XI. Bou, a 2021 MLS Best XI selection, owns 43 combined goals and assists since he entered the league in 2019, ranking second most in MLS during that span, while Buksa, the club’s Golden Boot Award winner last season, enters today’s contest one goal shy of his 10th at Gillette Stadium.
  • Tommy McNamara reached the scoresheet with an assist last Saturday. The ninth-year midfielder owns a team-best two career goals scored against FC Dallas.
  • Matt Polster suits up for his 110th start in MLS this afternoon. Polster is now one appearance away from his 130th in MLS. 
  • Earl Edwards Jr. makes his first-ever start at Gillette Stadium after recording his club debut with a three-save performance last weekend.
  • Brandon Bye netted New England’s first goal of the season last Saturday. The fourth-year defender (8,330) is approaching 8,500 minutes played in MLS.
  • DeJuan Jones, who finished fifth in MLS Defender of the Year voting last season, eclipsed 5,000 minutes played in MLS and logged his first assist of the 2022 campaign in the season opener. The 24-year-old defender is now two starts shy of his 60th in MLS.
  • Andrew Farrell’s next appearance will be the veteran defender’s 275th in MLS. The 29-year-old leads all MLS outfield players in all three categories since entering the league as the top overall selection in the 2013 SuperDraft.
  • Henry Kessler pairs up with Farrell in New England’s central defense and makes his first start of the 2022 campaign. The third-year defender suits up for his 25th appearance at Gillette Stadium today.

Bench Notes:

  • Omar Gonzalez posted a full 90-minute performance in his Revolution debut in the season opener at Portland. The 11th-year defender is five appearances shy of his 250th in MLS. 
  • Jozy Altidore also made his Revolution debut in last Saturday’s match at Portland, appearing in the contest as a substitute. Altidore owns one goal and one assist over five career appearances at Gillette Stadium. The veteran striker is 38 minutes shy of surpassing 12,000 minutes played in MLS.
  • Midfielders Wilfrid Kaptoum and Maciel also appeared off the bench in last weekend’s season opener, with the latter collecting his 20thappearance in MLS.
  • Emmanuel Boateng logged two goals and four assists in just 376 minutes played in his debut campaign with the Revolution last season. The seventh-year midfielder is three starts shy of his 75th in MLS. 
  • Arnór Traustason features on New England’s matchday roster for the first time in 2022.Traustason, entering his second MLS campaign, logged two goals and seven assists over 29 appearances in 2021.
