Revolution midfielder Jermaine Jones to miss 6-8 weeks

Jermaine Jones vs. Toronto FC

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution announced today that midfielder Jermaine Jones underwent surgery earlier today to repair a bilateral sports hernia. Dr. David Berger and Dr. Scott Martin performed the operation this afternoon at Massachusetts General Hospital and Jones is scheduled to miss the next 6-8 weeks.

This season, Jones has appeared in and started nine games, playing a total of 683 minutes in central defense and central midfield. He missed the first five games of the season while completing his rehabilitation from offseason surgery, but the Revs were 3-1-5 in the nine games that he played upon his return in early April, including wins in three of his first four appearances.  Since joining New England in August 2014, Jones has played in 19 regular-season games, scoring two goals and adding four assists with the Revs losing just two of those contests.
