FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution have signed defender Michael Mancienne to a new contract. Mancienne is set to return on a renegotiated deal for his third MLS season with the Revolution after joining the club in the summer of 2018.
Mancienne, 31, has registered 26 appearances, 23 starts, and one goal since signing with the Revolution from Nottingham Forest on Aug. 3, 2018. In 2019, the English center back made 16 appearances, including 13 starts, across 1,189 minutes played despite missing significant time with a foot injury. He scored the first goal of his professional career in the Revolution's 3-3 draw at Seattle Sounders FC on Aug. 10. In his debut season with New England in 2018, Mancienne played 900 minutes across 10 appearances – all starts.
A native of Feltham, England, Mancienne's professional experience includes time with Chelsea, Wolverhampton, Queens Park Rangers, Hamburger SV, and Nottingham Forest. For his career, he owns nearly 350 appearances and more than 25,000 minutes played, including a combined 99 appearances in the English Premier League and German Bundesliga.
