FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The Revolution’s Under-14 team was the lone Revolution youth team in action last weekend, as itearned a 2-1 win over New York Soccer Club on Saturday, March 29, at Forekicks Taunton in Taunton, Mass.
UNDER-14s
The Under-14s needed to battle back from a goal down to claim victory over New York Soccer Club. NYSC took the lead after just four minutes through Jack Beer, but the lead would not last long. In the 10th minute, Justin Rennicks (South Hamilton, Mass.) closed down a back pass to the NYSC keeper and got his foot on the ball and steered it into the net. The score line remained level through halftime, and Rennicks grabbed his second goal in the 50th minute. After the NYSC keeper bobbled a long range shot, Rennicks picked up the rebound and fired in. The U14s had several more chances to add to their lead, but held the 2-1 score line through the final whistle. With their second win in as many weeks, the U14s are now 9-2-1 on the season.
All three youth teams return to action this weekend, as the Under-18s and Under-16s welcome fellow MLS academy New York Red Bulls and the Under-14s host New Jersey Soccer Academy at Durfee High School in Fall River, Mass., on Saturday, April 5. The U18s and U16s are also in action on Sunday, April 6, when they face Seacoast United at Regis College in Weston, Mass.
