FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (January 20, 2025) – The New England Revolution are launching the club’s fifth annual “Touches for C.H.A.N.G.E.” initiative from February 24 to March 1. The Revolution’s C.H.A.N.G.E. platform is committed to celebrating New England’s Black History, while also promoting social justice and equality. Since its inauguration in 2021, Touches for C.H.A.N.G.E. has raised over $94,000 to fund the purchase of new soccer equipment and support youth-oriented programs across several locations.

As part of the initiative, the Revolution invite local youth soccer organizations and all community members to click here to register and donate as individuals or teams. Participants are encouraged to pledge to record touches with a soccer ball each day from February 24 to March 1. The number of touches each day will correspond to figures from important facts about past Revolution Players Collaborative fund beneficiaries, who are making positive efforts in the social justice and equity field.

This year, the Revolution aim to raise at least $20,000 to provide funding for 10-12 free soccer clinics at BCYF branches, in addition to the purchase of new soccer equipment. During these clinics, participants will receive expert coaching from Revolution Academy staff at various BCYF locations. Additionally, two BCYF sites will each host two four-week skills training programs for 50 participants.

To date, Touches for C.H.A.N.G.E. has hosted 30 free soccer clinics benefiting over 800 youth participants at numerous BCYF locations. The fundraising efforts have also helped provide over 185 new futsal balls and 16 futsal nets at BCYF community centers throughout Boston neighborhoods, along with other items including soccer balls, goalkeeper gloves, pop-up goals, drawstring bags, and drill cones for BCYF futsal leagues and tournaments. BCYF has 24 sites participating in futsal leagues, with the girls' and co-ed teams opening their season on January 22, followed by the boys' teams beginning on January 23.

Donations of any amount are welcome and will be used in part to purchase the following soccer equipment:

  1. $10 donation provides a set of eight (8) drill cones
  2. $25 donation provides one (1) pair of goalkeeper gloves
  3. $35 donation provides a soccer ball and drawstring bag
  4. $150 donation provides a 4’ x 6’ Kwik Flex pop-up goal

All fans are encouraged to join the conversation online by posting #TouchesForChange on social media and share their motivation for participating and seeking change around issues of social injustice.
