FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution youth teams traveled to Pennsylvania this past weekend, meeting the PA Classics in Manheim on Saturday, April 14, before taking on FC Delco in Downingtown on Sunday, April 15. Combined, the Revs' youth teams went 2-2-0, with a win and a loss apiece.

UNDER-18s

On Saturday, the Under-18s topped the PA Classics in a high-scoring affair. Dominik Machado (Attleboro, Mass.) scored first for the Revolution in 30^th minute, heading home Nick Hoffman’s (East Brookfield, Mass.) rebound off the post. New England added a second goal early in the second half when Ramiro Osorio (Hooksett, N.H.) battled down the left flank, beating several defenders to serve a cross into the box. Peguy Ngatcha (Manchester, N.H.) latched on, his shot from 10 yards out finding the back of the net. The Classics then leveled the score, drawing a penalty in the 57^th minute before equalizing in the 69^th. In the 82^nd minute, Matt Bitchell (Byfield, Mass.) ripped a thunderous shot on target, striking both posts. Osorio followed up to finish, giving the Revs three points on the road with a 3-2 win.

The U18s then suffered a 1-0 loss to FC Delco on Sunday. While the teams played an evenly-matched first half, FC Delco’s Melvin Snoh scored in the 37^th minute to take the lead. Both teams continued to hold their own defensively throughout the second half. Still searching for the equalizer late in the game, first-year Rev Manuel Andrade (Boston, Mass.) nearly found the back of the net in the final minute, but his off-balance shot skirted just wide.

UNDER-16s

On Saturday, the Under-16s were shut out by the PA Classics. Deadlocked until the 40^th minute, the Classics’ Connor Maloney scored to give the home team the advantage going into the break. New England created a number of chances throughout the match, with both Amadu Kunateh (Salem, Mass.) and Declan McCabe (Weston, Mass.) hitting the woodwork. The Classics scored again in the 60^th minute – the result of an unfortunate bounce in the Revs’ 18-yard box. Unable the answer, the Revs came away with their third loss of the season.

The U16s bounced back on Sunday, earning a 2-1 victory over FC Delco. Kunateh dribbled down the center of the field, playing the ball into the path of Kevin Herrera (Lynn, Mass.). Herrera then went for the far post, beating the FC Delco goalkeeper to make it 1-0 in the 50^th minute. Defender Christian Sady (North Andover, Mass.) spurred the Revs’ second goal in the 78^th minute, slotting the ball across the face of goal for Gabe Gissie (Worcester, Mass.) to tap in. FC Delco’s Michael Desiderio then scored a consolation goal in the 81^st minute, but New England went home with the full three points.

With the weekend’s win and a loss each, the Revolution Under-18 team now holds a 6-4-0 record, while the Under-16s are 7-3-0. The youth teams return home this weekend, meeting Players Development Academy at Durfee High School in Fall River, Mass., on Saturday, April 21, before taking on the New York Red Bulls at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., on Sunday, April 22.
