BRADENTON, Fla. – “He’s a guy that’s very underrated.”

That's how New England Revolution head coach Caleb Porter describes Jackson Yueill, one of the team’s newest signings to the 2025 roster. The veteran midfielder joined the club as a free agent, previously spending his first eight professional seasons with the San Jose Earthquakes.

“I had a great time in San Jose, but for me personally I felt like it was time for a change,” said Yueill. “The Revs, I think, are a great organization and a great fit for me."

Yueill brings a lot of knowledge to the locker room this season, as some of the new Revolution signings bring a lot more youth to the pitch. A seasoned MLS player, Yueill has no problem taking the lead and helping young blood discover the ropes. He captained the Earthquakes from 2021-24 and considers himself someone players can rely on.

“On the Earthquakes, we also had a lot of young guys and a lot of Academy players who maybe didn't get a lot of minutes, but who were up and coming,” said Yueill. “In the last couple years, I was really able to mature and develop in a way that I could help lead them and guide them a little bit. And then here as well, there are a lot of experienced players who are joining the team, and a lot of new players to MLS. So, it's about just day-to-day, how do I act, how do I perform, work rate and effort, what do I give that they can watch visually, and then the words that I can help. Any type of guidance I can give them on the field, off the field. I think it is about trying to listen to them, get to know them really well, and whatever they need I'm here to help, and hopefully vice versa.”

Yueill’s professional experience doesn’t just span across MLS; the midfielder has 16 senior caps with the United States Men’s National Team and a total of 27 appearances with the Under-23, Under-20, and Under-18 national teams. In college, he played two years for UCLA, starting 34 of his 40 appearances and earning All-PAC-12 First Team honors in his first two seasons. Yueill carries as much talent with him as he does wisdom.

“Jackson Yueill I think is going to be a very good soccer player for us. We haven't had that guy that can kind of really dictate the rhythm and tempo in our midfield, and a guy that's going to really connect from our backline into our front guys,” Porter explained. “I think people are going to be very surprised just how much soccer [talent] this guy has. He's a soccer player, very clean, two-footed, and is going to be a real key rhythm guy for us.”

Just as Porter felt confident bringing Yueill into the squad, the Minnesota native felt just as sure of his new head coach, emphasizing his appreciation for Porter’s vision when it comes to style of play and plans for the road ahead.

“He knows how to win; he has done it in the past. And I think he brings a great demeanor,” Yueill described. “He wants everyone to be on the same page. He wants to play a progressive attacking style. He wants to have the ball, he wants to press well, and all the things that I appreciate in my qualities and being able to do on the field. I think he is a great coach. The first couple days in, I am really excited to learn more under him as this preseason goes along.”
