A strong, tough defender who is most comfortable as a central defender, but can also play on the right … is expected to provide depth to the Revs’ defensive corps this year … impressed the team during a 10-day tryout during the team’s Atlanta leg of their 2011 preseason preparations … since suffering his leg injury in 2009, did not played organized soccer until signing with the Revs in March 2011 … Twitter account: @OttoL4.

2011: Did not make an appearance in the MLS regular season. Formally joined the club on April 8 after signing in late March. Entered as a halftime substitute at center back in the friendly against Manchester United (July 13). Started both of the team’s U.S. Open Cup MLS Play-In matches at center back - at D.C. (April 26) and at Kansas City (May 25). Made seven starts at center back in MLS Reserve League action. Scored a goal at Toronto (June 21).

COLLEGE: Played four seasons at Winthrop University (2005-08), earning all-region honors as a senior in 2008 … made 80 appearances – 79 starts – and scored five goals and added 11 assists in his career … as a sophomore, recorded four goals and three assists in 22 games … had a career-high five assists out of the back as a senior … suffered a leg injury suffered in his final collegiate game – against William & Mary in the 2008 NCAA Tournament – which prevented him from participating in the 2010 MLS Combine, to which he was invited.

PERSONAL: Son of Miama Loewy … has a younger sister, Romelle (18) and brother, Emil (9) … close family friend is Liberian soccer legend George Weah, who had memorable stints with Monaco, PSG and Milan and who was named the 1995 FIFA World Player of the Year and the European Footballer of the Year… is a fan of EPL’s Chelsea … enjoys playing basketball and football for fun … lists building LEGOs as a personal hobby.
