WASHINGTON, D.C. – The New England Revolution (6-8-6, 24 pts.) extended the club's unbeaten streak to eight games with a 2-2 draw against D.C. United (8-5-8, 32 pts.) at Audi Field on Friday evening. First-half goals from Teal Bunbury and Carles Gil gave New England an early advantage, but D.C. responded with goals from Leonardo Jara and Quincy Amarikwa on both sides of halftime to level the score. The Revolution played the final 27 minutes with 10 men following Wilfried Zahibo's ejection for a second yellow card.

New England is now 4-0-4 over its league-best eight-game unbeaten run, including a 2-0-2 mark in away games. Bunbury has scored all four of his goals this season during the Revolution's undefeated streak. His fourth-minute tally in tonight's match is the quickest by a Revs player in 2019. Juan Fernando Caicedo, credited with the primary assist on the Revs' opening goal, now owns three assists in his debut MLS campaign – tied for second most among Revolution players. Carles Gil, who entered the match tied with Caicedo for the team lead in goals, scored for the fifth time this season—giving him 11 combined goals and assists on the year.

Tonight's result lifts the Revolution above Toronto FC for the seventh playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. It marks the first time since the first week of the regular season that New England has eclipsed the red line on the conference table.

New England returns to action on Wednesday, July 17, when the club hosts Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Gillette Stadium. The contest kicks off at 7:00 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Boston. The match will also air locally on the radio on 98.5 The Sports Hub, and in Portuguese on 1260 AM Nossa Radio.
