RECENT FORM VS. PORTLAND TIMBERS
This will be the 10th overall meeting between the New England Revolution and Portland Timbers, and their only match-up in the 2019 regular season.
These two sides have a history of ending competitions with honors even, as six of their first nine meetings have finished in draws (1-2-6). Most recently the series has featured three straight 1-1 draws dating back to 2016, with two at Gillette Stadium and one at Providence Park. This includes last year's 1-1 draw against the Timbers in Foxborough, with the lone Revolution goal from Homegrown midfielder Scott Caldwell.
To add to the intrigue, these two sides will be hungry for goals heading into this match-up, as both teams are coming off scoreless home draws in the midst of an intense fight for playoff contention.
Six teams have clinched playoff berths in the Eastern Conference. The Revs (41 points) currently sit in the seventh and final playoff spot as they aim to clinch in the final three games. Meanwhile, Portland (44 points) sits in a tie for the seventh and final playoff spot in the West with six playoff berths still up for grabs, as league-leading LAFC is the only team in the Western Conference to have officially locked up a spot, and also a first-round bye, in the postseason.
It's crunch time with only two weeks and three games left in the MLS regular season. With a tight race for the postseason, New England at Portland is a must-watch game.

The Revs will be sporting their sleek secondary kits, which take inspiration from uniforms the colonial generals wore in the Revolutionary War.
These jerseys sport a white front with light blue sides and sleeves, and are tied together with navy blue trim. The light blue sides continue to cover the back of the jersey, topped near the neckline with the classic image of the Flag of New England.
