A trio of New England Revolution representatives landed on the MLS Team of the Week presented by Audi following the Revs' wild 3-2 win over New York City FC this past weekend at Red Bull Arena.
Matt Turner led the way with his first Team of the Week honors this year, making a season-high seven saves in the Revs victory. Several of those saves were of the highlight-reel variety, including an early stop on a penalty kick, another point-blank save when it was still 0-0, and a stunning stoppage-time effort to seal the win.
Carles Gil was named to the Team of the Week for the third time this season after registering a pair of assists at NYCFC. Gil delivered a pinpoint cross to Jon Bell as the center back headed home his first MLS goal, before slipping a perfect pass into the path of Tajon Buchanan to set up Tommy McNamara's winner in the 88th minute. Gil now has an MLS-leading seven assists on the year.
Bruce Arena rounded out the Revolution's honorees, as he inserted both Bell and Gustavo Bou into the starting XI and was rewarded with goals from each, while he also brought on Buchanan as a substitute to secure a match-winning assist.
