FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution Academy players Isaac Angking and Justin Rennicks continue to receive national recognition as they were both named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s 2016 Youth Boys All-America Team. Angking has also been called in to the U.S. Under-17 National Team for the 13th annual Nike International Friendlies.
Angking (midfielder) and Rennicks (forward) were two of 40 players selected for this honor. The All-Americans will be formally acknowledged for their accomplishments at the NSCAA All-America Luncheon on January 14, 2017 in Los Angeles in conjunction with the 2017 NSCAA Convention.
Angking has made 72 appearances in his five seasons with the Academy. The Providence, R.I. native has scored 17 goals and added 16 assists since joining the Academy ahead of the 2013-14 season. Angking is currently part of U.S. Soccer’s 2016 Fall Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla. Previously the fourth-year midfielder, along with current Revolution Academy player, Tyler Freitas, participated in U.S. Soccer’s 2016 Spring Residency Program in Bradenton, Fla.
Rennicks has made 104 appearances in his five seasons with the Academy. The South Hamilton, Mass. native has scored 35 goals and added 25 assists since joining the Academy ahead of the 2012-13 season. Rennicks was named UnitedHealthcare Academy Player of the Year for a second consecutive year at the conclusion of the 2015-16 Academy season.
In addition, Angking has been called in to the U.S. Under-17 National Team for the 13th annual Nike International Friendlies. Angking is one of 20 players called in to the squad for the tournament, which takes place at the Premier Sports Complex in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. from Nov. 30-Dec. 4.
The tournament, which runs concurrently with the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winer Showcase, features two games on each of three match days. Beginning on Nov. 30, the U.S. faces Portugal (7 p.m. ET), plays Turkey on Dec. 2 (7 p.m. ET), and then finishes the competition against Brazil on Dec. 4 (5 p.m. ET). All of the United States’ games will serve as the feature match of the evening, following the opening international match at 3 p.m. ET. All Nike Friendlies and six select Development Academy matches will be broadcast live on U.S. Soccer’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
