FOXBOROUGH, Mass. ā The New England Revolution Under-18 and Under-16 sides were each in action this past week, travelling to Sarasota, Florida for the annual U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase. The U-18s drew each of their three games, kicking off with a 3-3 draw against the Dallas Texans on Dec. 3 before playing to consecutive 2-2 ties against Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Crew SC Academy. The U-16s began their Showcase with a 3-1 win over Sporting Kansas City on Dec. 4, before tying 1-1 with Sockers FC a day later and falling 2-0 to the Houston Dynamo on Dec. 7 to close out the competition.
UNDER-18s
The Under-18s opened up their Showcase by playing to a 3-3 draw with the Dallas Texans. The Revs took the lead early on, with Daniel Jones (West Hartford, Conn.) dribbling the ball down the left wing before slipping in Bryant Nardizzi (Framingham, Mass.), and the forward found his strike partner Justin Rennicks (South Hamilton, Mass.) who finished from close range to make the score 1-0. The U-18s doubled their lead in the 22nd minute, when a loose ball fell to Max Diamond (Hopedale, Mass.) and the midfielder placed a curling shot into the top corner from 25 yards out.
The Revolutionās two-goal advantage would not hold, as Dominick Hernandez made the score 2-1 before halftime, and Malik Key equalized for the Texans eight minutes after the restart. The U-18s pulled ahead in the 81st minute, with three substitutes combining to put the side 3-2 in front. Isaac Angking (Providence, R.I.) found Izaiah Jennings (Barrington, R.I.) at the top of the area, and the forward slipped the ball through for Joe Brito (Bolton, Conn.), who found the net for his first goal of the season. However, the Texans tallied a 90th-minute equalizer through Jackson Morse to see the two sides split the points.

In a reverse of the previous dayās result, it was the Revolution who struck late to claim a 2-2 draw with Vancouver Whitecaps FC. After a goalless first half, Gloire Amanda put the Canadian side in front in the 56th minute. New England equalized just four minutes later as Izaiah Jennings applied pressure to a Vancouver defender, forcing him to play the ball back to his goalkeeper, and Justin Rennicks was able to block the glovemanās attempted clearance into the back of the net for his team-leading sixth goal of the season.
Amanda scored his second goal of the game in the 68th minute, restoring the Whitecapsā advantage, only for the Revs to tally a late equalizer to claim a second consecutive draw. With two minutes remaining, Bryant Nardizzi was fouled 25 yards out and Andrew Barrowman (Marshfield, Mass.) stepped up to curl the free kick over the wall and into the top corner, making the final score 2-2.

The Revs U-18s wrapped up their Winter Showcase with their third draw in as many games, tying 2-2 against Crew SC Academy on Sunday. The Revs fell behind in the 22nd minute when Devyn Etling put Crew SC 1-0 up, but the Revs responded just before the halftime break. Daniel Jones brought the ball forward down the left and found Isaac Angking in the midfield who switched the play to Matt Ranieri (Natick, Mass.) on the right wing. The right back took on his man and burst into the area before finding the net with a near-post finish to make the score 1-1.
Crew SC Academy took the lead for a second time in the game when Deihnia Sarnor scored in the 61st minute, but New England once again found an equalizer. Ten minutes after falling behind, Angking was fouled 25 yards out and curled the ensuing free kick around the wall and into the bottom corner of the net, tying the score at 2-2 and ensuring that the Revolution U-18s finished their Showcase with an unbeaten record.

UNDER-16s
The Under-16s began their Showcase on Friday, Dec. 4 when Tim Enninās (East Hartford, Conn.) first two goals of the season helped the side to a 3-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City. The Revs took the lead in the 21st minute, when Gabriel Meireles (Everett, Mass.) received the ball at the top of the area, cut inside on his left foot and crossed for Ennin at the back post whose initial volleyed attempt was saved, but he followed up to finish the rebound and put the Revs 1-0 up. Ennin added a second goal before the break, with Meireles again involved as he played a ball down the left wing for Gustavo Cassemiro (Framingham, Mass.), who chipped a cross into the area that Ennin met with a diving header to make the score 2-0.
The Revs pulled further ahead in the 52nd minute, when Cassemiro again provided a threat from the wing and cut the ball back to Amos Shapiro-Thompson (Worthington, Mass.), who was making his first appearance of the season, and the midfielder found the top corner to make the score 3-0. Sporting Kansas City pulled a goal back late on through Sheldon China but the Revs cruised to a 3-1 win.
