FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy’s Under-18, Under-16, Under-14, and Under-13 teams were back in action this past weekend, with all four teams hosting matches against Oakwood Soccer Club. The Under-18s and Under-16s played at East Providence High School, while the Under-14s and Under-14s played at Medway High School.
All four Revolution Academy teams return to the pitch this weekend and will travel to Epping, N.H. to take on Seacoast United on Saturday at the Seacoast United Outdoor Complex.
WEEK HIGHLIGHTS
- Forwards Izaiah Jennings '98 (Barrington, R.I.) and Justin Rennicks '99 (South Hamilton, Mass.) as well as midfielder Alex Shterenberg '99 (Westwood, Mass.) recorded at least one goal and one assist in the Under-18s’ 4-1 victory. Jennings posted two goals and one assist, Rennicks notched one goal and two assists, and Shterenberg tallied one goal and one assist.
- Defender Daniel Jones '99 (West Hartford, Conn.) appeared on the scoresheet for the first time this season for the Under-18s. Jones registered an assist on a 38th minute goal scored by Justin Rennicks.
- Forward Damian Rivera '02 (Cranston, R.I.) recorded the game-winning goal for the Under-14s. Rivera now has seven goals on the season.
- Forward Brandonn Bueno '04 (Framingham, Mass.) registered his eighth goal of the season in the Under-13s’ 1-0 victory. The goal was Bueno’s second game-winning goal of the 2016-17 season.
- Goalkeepers Connel O'Brien '02 (Rochester, N.H.), Eliot Jones '03 (New Britain, Conn.), and Nickolas Cardona '03 (Roxbury, Mass.) did not allow a goal in their respective outings. O'Brien made five saves in the Under-14s’ shutout victory, while Jones and Cardona combined for four saves in the Under-13s’ 1-0 win.
