Youth Academy: u16 vs. Bolts | Oct 16

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. ā€“ The New England Revolution Academyā€™s Under-18, Under-16, Under-14, and Under-13 teams were back in action this past weekend, with all four teams hosting matches. The Under-18s and Under-16s played Empire United at Medway High School, while the Under-14s and Under-13s squared off with Met Oval at East Providence High School. The Under-18s, Under-14s, and Under-13s each recorded shutout victories.


All four Revolution Academy teams return to the pitch this weekend. The Under-18s and Under-16s will host Cedar Stars Academy - Monmouthā€™s Under-18 and Under-16 teams on Saturday, followed by Players Development Academyā€™s Under-18 and Under-16 teams on Sunday at East Providence High School in East Providence, R.I. Meanwhile, the Under-14s and Under-13s will host FC Boston Boltsā€™ Under-14 and Under-13 teams at Medway High School in Medway, Mass.


WEEK HIGHLIGHTS

  • Forward Brandonn Bueno '04 (Framingham, Mass.) recorded a hat trick for a second consecutive match in the 5-0 win for the Under-13s over Met Ovalā€™s Under-13s. Bueno now has six goals on the season.
  • Goalkeepers Trey Miller '99 (Monson, Mass.) and Connel Oā€™Brien '02 (Rochester, N.H.) posted shutouts for the U-18s and U-14s, respectively. Meanwhile, goalkeepers Eliot Jones '03 (New Britain, Conn.) and Nickolas Cardona '03 (Roxbury, Mass.) each played a scoreless half in the shutout win for the U-13s.
  • Midfielder Patrick Leal '03 (Newton, Mass.) notched a brace as well as an assist for the Under-13s in the 5-0 win. The two scores were Lealā€™s first as a Revolution Academy player.
  • Forward Jonathan Ferreira '01 (Ashland, Mass.) also registered a brace on the weekend. He posted two goals for the Under-16s in the 4-3 loss to Empire United. Ferreira now has four goals on the season.
  • Under-18 midfielder Joe Brito '99 (Bolton, Conn.), Under-16 forward Laz Dorogi '00 (West Boylston, Mass.), and Under-14 forward Keel Brissett '02 (Amherst, Mass.) each registered their first goals of the season.
