FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – All five New England Revolution teams returned to the pitch for a pair of games over the weekend. On Saturday, May 5 the U-19s, U-17s, and U-15s squared off with Continental FC DELCO, while the U-14s and U-13s faced the New York Cosmos. All five matches were contested at East Providence High School, in East Providence, R.I. On Sunday, May 5, The U-19s, U-17s, and U-15s faced fellow MLS Academy sides in the Philadelphia Union at Gillette Stadium, while the U-14s and U-13s took on Seacoast United at Assumption College in Worcester, Mass.
All five Academy teams will be back on the pitch this weekend, with the U-19s, U-17s, and U-15s set to play a pair of matches for a second consecutive weekend. On Saturday, May 12, all five teams will play Beachside SC, with the U-19s, U-17s, and U-15s matches being contested at East Providence High School in East Providence, R.I. The U-14s and U-13s will play their matches at Medway High School in Medway, Mass. On Sunday, May 13, the U-19s, and U-17s, and U-15s will travel to Ridgewood, N.Y. for road contests against BW Gottschee.
WEEK HIGHLIGHTS
- Midfielder Trevor Burns '01 (Southborough, Mass.), forward Tim Ennin '00 (East Hartford, Conn.), and defender Andrew White '00 (Boxborough, Mass.) each appeared on the scoresheet three times for the U-19s in their pair of matches. Burns recorded two goals and an assist, Ennin registered three goals, while White contributed three assists.
- A pair of U-17s recorded firsts as Revolution Academy players. Midfielder Meny Silva '02 (Roxbury, Mass.) recorded his first goal and first assist, while defender Nathan Metsack '01 (Ashford, Conn.) scored his first goal in the U-17s' 4-2 win over Continental FC DELCO. In addition, forward Andrew Serafino '03 (East Longmeadow, Mass.) recorded his first goal at the U-17 level, his Revolution Academy-leading 18th tally.
- The U-15s recorded a pair of shutout victories over the weekend, defeating Continental FC DELCO, 4-0, and the Philadelphia Union, 1-0. Goalkeepers Nick Cardona '03 (Roxbury, Mass.) and Eliot Jones '03 (New Britain, Conn.) each recorded a shutout on the weekend. Forward Zach Vlachos '03 (Peabody, Mass.) and midfielder Hikaru Fujiwara '03 (Lexington, Mass.) each netted a pair of goals in the two contests.
- Midfielder Dylan Henao '04 (Saugus, Mass.) recorded a hat trick in the U-14s' 5-2 victory over Seacoast United. In addition, forward Michael Hofstetter '04 (Providence, R.I.) and midfielder Austin Bush '04 (Southampton, Mass.) recorded a pair of goals over the weekend.
- Forward Noel Buck'05 (Arlington, Mass.), midfielder Marco Dos Santos '05 (Windham, N.H.), and defender Jack LaBelle '05 (Peabody, Mass.) scored, while Sam Martin '05 (Westwood, Mass.) earned a shutout in the U-13s' 3-0 victory over Seacoast United.
