FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy continued its 2021 MLS NEXT Fall season with the Under-19s and Under-14s both taking the field Sunday afternoon in Walpole, Mass. The U-19s played Met Oval to a 2-2 draw while the U-14s took down Bayside FC, 3-2. Both the Under-17s and Under-15s were off for the weekend.
Additionally, Revolution II played a pair of matches last week as they continue their quest to qualify for the USL League One playoffs. New England defeated Forward Madison FC, 1-0, before falling at Greenville Triumph SC on Saturday, 1-0. Revolution Academy graduate Meny Silva (2002 – Roxbury, Mass.) earned his first professional start in Tuesday’s victory while fellow Academy alums Justin Rennicks, Damian Rivera, Noel Buck, and Colby Quiñones each made a pair of appearances.
On Monday, U-17 goalkeeper Ryan Carney (2006 – Dunstable, Mass.) was called into the United States Under-17 National Team Domestic Training Camp in Chula Vista, Calif. from November 1-8. At the start of the 2021 MLS NEXT fall season, Carney has started eight matches for the U-17s and has posted a 4-4-0 record with one clean sheet under Head Coach Shalrie Joseph’s tutelage.
On Sunday, New England’s U-15 and U-17 sides will join the Revolution first team in Florida, facing Orlando City SC Academy. Revolution MLS NEXT & Alumni Highlights
- Forward Greg Cook (2004 – Las Vegas, Nev.) scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season for the U-19s while forward Triton Beauvois (2003 – Malden, Mass.) tallied his fourth goal of the year.
- Forward Cristiano Carlos (2008 – Chicopee, Mass.) added two goals and an assist in a victory for the undefeated U-14 squad, raising his total to a program-best 13 tallies in eight matches this season. His five assists also lead the team, as do his four game-winning goals.
- Midfielder Gabriel Jordao (2008 – Bellingham, Mass.) tallied his team-leading second game-winning assist of the season off the bench for the U-14s.
- Gevork Diarbian (2001 – Cranston, R.I.) scored his second goal of the season for 16th-ranked Providence College in a 2-1 loss to Butler last week.
