FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy's Under-19 and Under-17 teams recently travelled to Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. for the 2017 USSDA Winter Showcase.
In the showcase, each team squared off with three clubs from around the country. The U-19s faced Charlotte Soccer Academy (Nov. 30), Chicago Fire (Dec. 1), and Houston Dynamo (Dec. 3), while the U-17s played Houston Dynamo (Dec. 1), Kendall SC (Dec. 2), and Columbus Crew SC (Dec. 4).
While the Academy has wrapped up its 2017 schedule, all five Academy teams will return to the pitch in January to prepare for the spring portion of the 2017-18 USSDA season.
WEEK HIGHLIGHTS
- Forward Tim Ennin '00 (East Hartford, Conn.) led all Revolution U-19s in goals scored over the weekend with three. Ennin registered a brace, which included the game-winning goal, in the U-19s' 3-2 win over the Chicago Fire.
- U-19 midfielders Riad El-Moukhtari '99 (Revere, Mass.) and Kevin Vang '00 (Cranston, R.I.) impressed in the attack during the Winter Showcase. El-Moukhtari posted a goal and two assists, while Vang recorded two assists for the U-19s.
- Forward Keel Brissett '02 (Amherst, Mass.) recorded a goal and an assist for the U-17s over the weekend.
